3rd independent reading book

For my third independent reading book i will read Invisible Girl. The book really interested me when i began reading in class. I want to know what happens to the girl , if her mother ever comes back, is she ever able to regain her life. Will she always be fearful?. The story interest me because she states that when her mother drinks her father never drinks but when her mother left he began drinking i wonder if he will begin the same cycle as her mother.

class reading wrap up

During our class reading time i began to read the story Invisible Girl , the story has a very melancholy feeling at the beginning. It begins with the main character running into a closet hiding from her parents. She describes a strong whiskey smell, as she walks into the closet she is so scared she wets her pants and has to take of her pants and underwear and use a coat to cover herself. She begins to hear the yelling come closer and closer then her mom finally walks in and beings yelling at her. She already expects her mother to hit her so she is ready and it begins her mom pulls the jacket of, and begins hitting her. When it needs her mother begins crying and saying sorry. Then the main character notices a suit case she begins putting pieces together and begs he mother to stay but she doesn't listen and leaves.

almost lost

Sammy, the main character in the story Almost Lost has progressed a lot through the story, at first he was hesitant about therapy because he thinks no one in their right mind would go see a shrink. As the story progresses he begins to understand that therapy will help him. Sammy begins telling his story and opening up, being able to trust someone. At times he goes back to his depressed self because of certain situations but he always finds a way to find his "light". Sammy has learned to relax and think positively about situations.
